DETECTION OF PRINTER MOTOR CHARACTERISTIC

A method of determining a characteristic of a printer motor in a printer is provided. The method comprises applying to the printer motor a predetermined voltage for a predetermined time, registering a number of signal pulses detected by an encoder of the printer motor during the predetermined time while the predetermined voltage is applied to the printer motor, and associating the number of signal pulses detected by the encoder to the characteristic of the printer motor, thereby determining the characteristic of the printer motor. L'invention concerne un procédé de détermination d'une caractéristique d'un moteur d'imprimante dans une imprimante. Le procédé consiste à appliquer au moteur d'imprimante une tension prédéterminée pendant une durée prédéterminée, enregistrer un nombre d'impulsions de signal détectées par un codeur du moteur d'imprimante pendant la durée prédéterminée tandis que la tension prédéterminée est appliquée au moteur d'imprimante, et associer le nombre d'impulsions de signal détectées par le codeur à la caractéristique du moteur d'imprimante, ce qui permet de déterminer la caractéristique du moteur d'imprimante.
