Disclosed in the present application are a call method and a communication apparatus. The method comprises: if it is determined that a first call mode is abnormal, a terminal device disabling a support capability of the first call mode, wherein the first call mode corresponds to a first communication standard, and the first call mode is used for supporting the terminal device in performing a voice call or a voice and video call; and the terminal device falling back to a network of a second communication standard by means of a call fallback procedure, and continuing to complete a subsequent call procedure in the network of the second communication standard.
