ENABLING PHYSICAL RANDOM-ACCESS CHANNEL REPETITION COMBINING IN RADIO UNIT FOR O-RAN-BASED RADIO ACCESS NETWORK

There is provided a method of operating an Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN). The method includes (a) communicating from an O-RAN radio unit (O-RU) to an O-RU controller, data informing that the O-RU supports physical random-access channel (PRACH) combining, (b) communicating from the O-RU controller to the O-RU, a parameter to facilitate the PRACH combining, and (c) configuring the O-RU in accordance with the parameter. There is also provided an O-RU and an O-RU controller that perform the method. L'invention concerne un procédé de fonctionnement d'un réseau d'accès radio ouvert (O-RAN). Le procédé consiste (a) à communiquer, d'une unité radio O-RAN (O-RU) à un contrôleur O-RU, des données informant que l'O-RU prend en charge une combinaison de canaux physiques d'accès aléatoire (PRACH), (b) à communiquer, du contrôleur O-RU à l'O-RU, un paramètre pour faciliter la combinaison PRACH, et (c) à configurer l'O-RU conformément au paramètre. L'invention concerne également une O-RU et un contrôleur O-RU qui mettent en œuvre le procédé.
