Zusammenfassung: | Disclosed are a method for recovering elemental copper in waste lithium-ion battery powder and an application. The method comprises the following steps: adding concentrated sulfuric acid into lithium-ion battery powder for an aging reaction, adding water and a reducing agent for a water immersion reaction, and performing solid-liquid separation to obtain a solid phase and a metal liquid; adding water to the solid phase to make a slurry, and adding an alkaline solution to adjust the pH to obtain a first graphite slurry; and sorting the first graphite slurry to obtain a second graphite slurry and elemental copper powder. In the present invention, concentrated sulfuric acid is used to carbonize organic matter in lithium-ion battery powder, so that the organic matter is decomposed, i.e. an active substance, copper and aluminum covered by the organic matter are decomposed.
