The method comprises: obtaining a target vehicle image (101); determining, in an image library, vehicle images to be selected that are similar to the target vehicle image (103); for each vehicle image to be selected, determining a first joint similarity degree between the target vehicle image and the vehicle image to be selected (105), wherein the first joint similarity degree is determined on the basis of a similarity degree of at least two types of features between the target vehicle image and the vehicle image to be selected; and selecting, from the vehicle images to be selected, a vehicle image of which the first joint similarity degree satisfies a first preset condition as a retrieval result of the target vehicle image (107).
