The method comprises: acquiring a special effect trigger instruction, the special effect trigger instruction corresponding to a first image frame in streaming media content of a live broadcast space, and the special effect trigger instruction also corresponding to first special effect information; in response to the special effect trigger instruction, determining target special effect information according to the first special effect information and a target object in the first image frame; and sending the target special effect information to a first client device associated with the live broadcast space, so that the first client device displays a special effect corresponding to the target special effect information.
