PIGMENT COMPOSITION AND INK USING SAME

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a pigment composition and an ink (and, in particular, an aqueous ink) that have excellent coloring power and glossiness in printed matter and can suppress the thickening that occurs over time when an azo lake pigment is used as a pigment. This pigment composition includes a bivalent metal lake azo pigment and 0.1-20 weight% of a bivalent metal salt of a mono- or dicarboxylic acid compound. The bivalent metal of the bivalent metal salt is preferably an alkali earth metal ion. The mono- or dicarboxylic acid compound is preferably a C4-20 mono- or dicarboxylic acid compound.
