Zusammenfassung:The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an activated carbon fiber which has excellent heat resistance, while exhibiting excellent mechanical strength and processability even in cases where the diameter thereof is increased, and which is free from the generation of a harmful decomposition gas during the production; an activated carbon fiber molded body which contains this activated carbon fiber; a method for producing this activated carbon fiber; a method for producing this activated carbon fiber molded body; an organic solvent adsorption/desorption device and a method for adsorbing/desorbing an organic solvent, each of which is provided with this activated carbon fiber molded body; and an organic solvent recovery system and a method for recovering an organic solvent, each of which is provided with this organic solvent adsorption/desorption device. An activated carbon fiber according to the present invention is obtained by activating: a polyphenylene ether fiber which contains a polyphenylene ether component that has dislocation structures connected by a bond at the ortho position among consecutive repeating units bonded at the para position; an infusibilized polyphenylene ether fiber which is obtained by infusibilizing the above-described polyphenylene ether fiber; a flameproof polyphenylene ether fiber which is obtained by subjecting the above-described polyphenylene ether fiber or the above-described infusibilized polyphenylene ether fiber to a flame-proofing treatment; or a carbon fiber which is obtained by carbonizing one of the above-described polyphenylene ether fibers.
