A monitoring device (10) that monitors the state of a vehicle while parked comprises: a photographing means (13) provided to the vehicle; an identification means (11a) that identifies a feature part of an image obtained by the photographing means while the vehicle is parked; and a determination means (11b) that determines that an abnormality has occurred in the vehicle if a change in the feature part in the image obtained by the photographing means is detected while the vehicle is parked.
