The present invention provides a vehicle management system that manages a vehicle having a powertrain comprising a plurality of components including an engine, said system comprising: a processing device that, on the basis of information regarding the vehicle as detected by a sensor provided to the vehicle, calculates an efficiency value for an observation target constituted of the powertrain, components of the power train, or a subsystem; and an output terminal that outputs the efficiency value, for the observation target, calculated by the processing device, wherein the processing device calculates a load parameter for the power train, assesses whether the load parameter is larger than a preset load assessment value, and, on the condition that the load parameter is larger than the load assessment value, calculates the efficiency value for the observation target on the basis of the input energy and the output energy of the observation target, and records the calculated efficiency value for the observation target.
