The method involves performing mutagenesis of a parental strain of Chlorella vulgaris. Furthermore, disclosed is a composition comprising algae biomass derived from the modified strains of Chlorella vulgaris and their use in food and/or cosmetics amongst other applications. L'invention concerne des souches modifiées de Chlorella vulgaris ayant une très faible teneur en chlorophylle. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour les produire. Le procédé consiste à effectuer une mutagenèse d'une souche parentale de Chlorella vulgaris. En outre, l'invention concerne une composition comprenant une biomasse d'algues dérivée des souches modifiées de Chlorella vulgaris et leur utilisation dans les aliments et/ou les cosmétiques parmi d'autres applications.
