IMPLANT FOR IMPROVING COAPTATION OF AN ATRIOVENTRICULAR VALVE

The invention relates to an implant for improving coaptation of an atrioventricular valve in a heart, the atrioventricular valve having a native first leaflet, a native second leaflet and optionally an annulus adjacent a wall of an atrium of the heart, the implant comprising an artificial leaflet configured to replace or support at least one of the first and second native leaflets, fixing means for fixing the implant to the annulus or to the at least one of the first and second native leaflets and retention means for preventing prolapse of the artificial leaflet, characterized in that the retention means comprise or consist of a backbone element extending along the artificial leaflet and towards a distal end of the artificial leaflet and being connected to the artificial leaflet at at least two attachment points, wherein the backbone element is configured to be bendable between a first state of bending and a second state of bending and wherein limiting means are provided for limiting the degree of bending. La présente invention se rapporte à un implant d'amélioration de la coaptation d'une valvule aurico-ventriculaire dans un cœur, la valvule aurico-ventriculaire ayant une première cuspide native, une seconde cuspide native et éventuellement un anneau adjacent à une paroi d'un atrium du cœur, l'implant comprenant une cuspide artificielle conçue pour remplacer ou soutenir la première et/ou la seconde cuspide native, un moyen de fixation pour fixer l'implant à l'anneau ou à la première et/ou à la seconde cuspide native et un moyen de rétention pour empêcher le prolapsus de la cuspide artificielle, caractérisé en ce que le moyen de rétention comprend ou est constitué d'un élément de squelette s'étendant le long de la cuspide artificielle et vers une extrémité distale de la cuspide artificielle et étant relié à la cuspide artificielle au niveau d'au moins deux points de solidarisation, l'élément de squelette étant conçu pour pouvoir être fléchi entre un premier état de flexion et un second état de flexion et un moyen de limitation étant fourni pour limiter le degré de flexion.
