METHOD OF TESTING TEARS AS A BIOMARKER FOR CANNABINOIDS

A method of obtaining and processing a tear sample from an individual, including obtaining a sample of tears from an individual by use of a flexible tapered polymer structure having opening at a distal end thereof, the opening having a diameter of less than 1 millimeter and placing the distal end of the flexible tapered polymer structure into contact with the tears adjacent the eye and applying negative pressure to the flexible tapered polymer structure. The method further includes buffering the sample of tears by addition of a buffering solution, analyzing the sample of tears to identify cannabinoids within the sample of tears; and presenting results of analysis of the sample of tears. Un procédé d'obtention et de traitement d'un échantillon lacrymal d'un individu, consistant à obtenir un échantillon lacrymal d'un individu par utilisation d'une structure de polymère conique souple présentant une ouverture au niveau de son extrémité distale, le diamètre d'ouverture étant inférieur à 1 millimètre, puis par placement de l'extrémité distale de la structure polymère conique souple en contact avec des larmes proches de l'œil ; et par application d'une pression négative sur la structure polymère conique souple. Le procédé consiste en outre à tamponner l'échantillon lacrymal par ajout d'une solution tampon ; à analyser l'échantillon lacrymal pour identifier des cannabinoïdes dans l'échantillon lacrymal ; et à présenter des résultats d'analyse de l'échantillon lacrymal.
