CUTTING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CUTTING FISHING LINE

A cutting device configured for cutting fishing line. The cutting device includes a housing, a plunger, and a biasing device. The plunger is movably disposed in the housing between an open position and a cutting position. The plunger defines a cutting channel configured to receive a section of the fishing line therein. A biasing device is operatively disposed between the housing and the plunger, and configured to react between the housing and the plunger along the longitudinal axis, in a first direction. The plunger is configured to move from the open position to the cutting position in response to the application of a force to the plunger along the longitudinal axis to move the plunger in a second direction, opposite the first direction, such that the section of fishing line disposed in the cutting channel is tensioned between the plunger and the housing and cuts the fishing line.
