The method comprises: collecting a target image, the target image being a molten steel surface image; according to the collected target image, obtaining steel slag seam contour information in a molten steel surface, the contour information comprising inner contours (63, 64) and an outer contour (62) of a steel slag seam; obtaining a steel slag seam width according to the steel slag seam contour information; and matching a preset temperature measurement and sampling gun placing position, a region of interest around the gun placing position, and a minimum region for gun placing with the obtained steel slag seam width, and selecting a gun placing position satisfying a gun placing condition from the molten steel surface to perform temperature measurement and sampling.
