The biological characteristic detection method is applied to control a light source (108) to perform a light emitting operation on an object to be detected (101) N times in a pulse repetition period TPF; control a photoelectric converter (110) to correspondingly perform a sampling operation at least twice every time the light emitting operation is performed once, so that the sampling operation is performed at least 2N times in the pulse repetition period TPF; and process electrical signals collected in the at least 2N sampling operations to obtain biological characteristics of the object to be detected (101), N being an integer greater than 1.
