The method comprises: searching, according to identification information of at least one old version hotspot compilation unit, a new version installation package for a target compilation unit matching the at least one old version hotspot compilation unit; and generating compiler optimization information for a new version according to the found target compilation unit. In this way, compiler optimization information for a new version application can be generated in time for guiding compiler optimization of the application.
