The present application provides an optical fingerprint recognition apparatus and an electronic device. The optical fingerprint recognition apparatus comprises a fingerprint recognition module that is disposed below a backlight module of a liquid crystal display; a fingerprint detection area is at least partially located in a display area of the display screen; the fingerprint recognition module comprises an optical sensor and a light source disposed near the optical sensor; the light source is configured to emit detection light to the fingerprint detection area of the liquid crystal display; the detection light passes through the liquid crystal display from a transparent part of the backlight module and irradiates a finger on the liquid crystal display to form fingerprint detection light carrying fingerprint information of the finger; and the optical sensor is configured to receive the fingerprint detection light to obtain the fingerprint information of the finger, wherein the fingerprint detection light pas
