Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to the field of strengthening the surfaces of articles, and more particularly to methods for applying thermal coatings using electric arc devices designed for the application of coatings using wire materials, and can be used in mechanical engineering for increased ease of use during the application of coatings to hard-to-reach surfaces of articles. Claimed is an electric arc spray coating method that includes applying a coating using a metallizing jet, and injecting thermoplastic polymer materials into said metallizing jet. A metallizing jet is generated and first a metallic layer with a thickness of 20-600 μm is applied, then a composite layer with a thickness of 20-600 μm is applied in such a way that thermoplastic polymer materials are injected into the metallizing jet, and then the metallizing jet is switched off and a polymer layer with a thickness of 20-600 μm is applied without the use of the metallizing jet. Propane or propane-butane or a propane-air mixture is additionally introduced during the application of the layers that include thermoplastic polymer materials. The desired technical result is: a reduction in the number of types of process equipment (by combining two types of process equipment into one); a reduction in the time taken to apply a metal-polymer coating (by obviating the need to adjust equipment to another coating application process); the formation of a metal-polymer coating in a single process without the need to adjust equipment; the production of a functional metal-polymer coating having desired properties by virtue of the possibility of including different thermoplastic polymer materials in a metallized coating; and an ergonomic design (by obviating the need for separate equipment for each type of process).
