Disclosed is a protection device for a medical device (1) comprising a substantially cylindrical body (3) and a tube (4), the body (3) and tube (4) being hollow and open at their ends, the body (3) comprising a thermally insulating distal part (32) and assembly means, the tube (4) comprising complementary assembly means, the body (3) being capable of sliding on the tube (4) in a longitudinal direction from a first position corresponding to a sampling configuration of the protection device (2) to a second position corresponding to a protection configuration of the protection device, the assembly means of the body (3) and the complementary assembly means being capable of immobilising the body (3) in longitudinal translation in the first position and the second position.
