Provided in the present invention are an electronic price tag position detection apparatus and method, the apparatus comprising: a lighting control module, used for sending a lighting signal to an electronic price tag; an electronic price tag, used for lighting up according to a set lighting rule after receiving the lighting signal; a camera, used for photographing the electronic price tag according to a set photography rule after the electronic price tag lights up, in order to acquire image data of the electronic price tag; and a detection module, used for determining the position of the electronic price tag on a goods shelf on the basis of the image data of the electronic price tag.
