L'invention concerne un dispositif de contrôle (10) d'une soudure d'un élément tubulaire longitudinal creux comprenant : - un châssis (12), - un système d'accroche et de verrouillage (14) dudit châssis sur l'élément tubulaire, - un organe mobile (19) lié au châssis (12) et mobile en rotation par rapport au châssis (12) autour de l'élément tubulaire, - un dispositif d'entrainement en rotation (20) de l'organe mobile (19) par rapport au châssis (12), - un support (29) comportant au moins un bloc capteur (24) à courants de Foucault lié à l'organe mobile (19), le support (29) étant mobile en translation longitudinale par rapport à l'organe mobile (19), - un dispositif d'entrainement en translation longitudinale (26) dudit support (29).
