Zusammenfassung:Provided is an external sensing information processing device with which it is possible to suppress a negative impact on warning by an advanced safety system or an automated driving system as well as on vehicle control, by, when using positional information of an object detected by another vehicle, suppressing a positional error when reflecting the presence of the object to a map of an own vehicle, examining the accuracy of the positional information of the other vehicle and, depending on the situation, avoiding use of the positional information of the object provided by the other vehicle. When an external sensor installed in the other vehicle or on the road transmits positional information of an object or a sign that has been detected, the external sensor also detects and submits the position of a characteristic point of the object (stationary object) and the sign serving as a position reference and providing constituent information of an environmental map. When the information is received, the own vehicle calculates (corrects) the position of the object or the sign on the environmental map of the own vehicle, on the basis of a relative positional relationship between the positional information of the object or the sign as a target and the position of the characteristic point, and the position of the characteristic point recognized by the own vehicle. The other vehicle also transmits positional information of the other vehicle itself. The own vehicle checks an error in positional information of the vehicle recognized by the other vehicle itself on the basis of a relationship between the positional information of the other vehicle itself being received, the position of a characteristic point detected by the other vehicle, and the position of the characteristic point recognized by the own vehicle, and avoids use of the positional information provided by the other vehicle if the error is large or unstable.
