This transmission device comprises: a mode switching switch (59) to which a mode switching operation between a manual mode (M2) and an automatic mode (M1) is input from the outside; another operation unit (80) which is separate from the mode switching switch (59) and to which a predetermined transmission operation is input from the outside; and a control unit (60) that controls the mode switching between the manual mode (M2) and the automatic mode (M1). The control unit (60) executes the mode switching between the manual mode (M2) and the automatic mode (M1) on the basis of the mode switching operation input to the mode switching switch (59).
