PROCESS FOR PRODUCING METHANOL

A method for producing methanol is disclosed. The method includes supplying a high oxygen content oxidant to combust hydrocarbons, in particular methane, and then using the resulting hot gases to heat natural gas so as to convert the natural gas to synthesis gas. The synthesis gas is used to produce methanol in a methanol synthesis reactor. At least some of the carbon dioxide from the hot gases is fed to the methanol synthesis reactor to make methanol. La présente invention concerne un procédé de production de méthanol. Ce procédé consiste à fournir un oxydant à haute teneur en oxygène pour brûler des hydrocarbures, en particulier du méthane, puis à utiliser les gaz chauds obtenus pour chauffer le gaz naturel de façon à convertir le gaz naturel en gaz de synthèse. Le gaz de synthèse est utilisé pour produire du méthanol dans un réacteur de synthèse de méthanol.
