Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a method for controlling retransmission, a communication interface, and an electronic device: when acknowledgement corresponding to a first data packet is not received for a first data packet sent by a transmission end to a receiving end within a first RTO, retransmitting a second data packet according to a second RTO, the second data packet being a data packet that is sent by the transmission end after sending the first data packet, and the second RTO relating to a reception time stamp for acknowledgement corresponding to the first data packet and a sending time stamp of the first data packet. The method for controlling retransmission provided in the embodiments of the present application may prevent unnecessary retransmission, thus shortening transmission time for data packets, and reducing the power consumption of and network resources occupied by a device.
