Disclosed are a method and apparatus for enhancing image color. The method comprises: for any pixel point in an image, acquiring a first saturation degree of the pixel point; processing the first saturation degree of the pixel point according to a first saturation degree transformation function so as to obtain a slope corresponding to the first saturation degree of the pixel point; obtaining a second saturation degree transformation function according to local detail information of the pixel point if the slope is less than a first preset threshold value; processing the first saturation degree of the pixel point according to the adjusted saturation degree transformation function so as to obtain a second saturation degree of the pixel point; computing a target brightness value of the pixel point according to the second saturation degree; and adjusting the original brightness value of the pixel point to the target brightness value.
