Zusammenfassung:	An oil and gas downhole device is disclosed wherein the device separates the oil and gas from undesired water, which returns to the formation. The device includes a plurality of channels filled with elements fit tightly to a gas tight seal at atmospheric pressure with interstitial spaces. Under pressure the device allows oil and gas to pass but not water within its operating range of pressures. Also included is a method for using the device. L'invention concerne un dispositif de fond de trou de pétrole et de gaz, le dispositif séparant le pétrole et le gaz de l'eau non désirée qui retourne dans la formation. Le dispositif comprend une pluralité de canaux remplis d'éléments s'adaptant étroitement à un joint étanche au gaz à la pression atmosphérique pourvus d'espaces interstitiels. Sous pression, le dispositif permet au pétrole et au gaz de passer, mais pas à l'eau, dans sa plage d'utilisation de pressions. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé d'utilisation dudit dispositif.
