Spiropyrane is mixed to main liquid crystal, and when a voltage is applied, the spiropyrane can assist in causing electrodynamic instability of the liquid crystal molecules under the effect of an alternating electric field; after spiropyrane molecules are irradiated by ultraviolet rays, configuration of the spiropyrane molecules is transformed from an original closed-loop state into an opened-loop state, along with the generation of positive ions and negative ions, and the generated negative ions and positive ions continuously move under the effect of an external applied alternating electric field, strengthening the electrodynamic instability, compensating the deficiency condition of non-obvious electrodynamics of the liquid crystal molecules caused by an applied relatively low voltage, such that the photo-response dimming device can have a relatively good dimming effect at a relatively low driving voltage.
