Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed by the present invention are a light-dimming device and a light-dimming method therefor: main body liquid crystals and salts of ionizable ions fill a regulating area that is formed by oppositely arranged substrates; the main body liquid crystals are arranged in a specific orientation under the induction of an orientation layer when not being energized and are re-oriented when being energized; ions ionized from the salts of ionizable ions move quickly under the action of a formed electric field and disorganize the specific orientation arrangement of the main body liquid crystals such that the main body liquid crystals move irregularly following the quick movement of ionizable ions so as to scatter incident light in the visible light waveband, thereby regulating the transmission and scattering of visible light and regulating light. Due to no polymer network being present, the liquid crystal device provided by the present invention does not require the use of a reactive monomer and does not require a p
