METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DOWNLOADING AUDIOVISUAL CONTENT

The invention relates to a method and to a device for downloading audiovisual content from a data network. According to the invention, a description file describing the breakdown of audiovisual content into a set of segments comprises at least two items of information respectively representing two download paths for the segments, each item of information representing a download path being associated with a network interface and at least two network interfaces being separate. The download device obtains (22, 26) at least one item of information for distributing download requests for the segments through the network interface and, for at least one segment of the audiovisual content to be downloaded, it selects (23) one network interface from the network interfaces associated with the download paths included in the description file, as a function of the information for distributing requests that is obtained. A request for downloading the segment is subsequently sent (24) via the selected interface network. Selon l'invention, un fichier de description décrivant le découpage du contenu audiovisuel en un ensemble de segments, comprend au moins deux informations représentatives respectivement de deux chemins de téléchargement des segments, chaque information représentative d'un chemin de téléchargement étant associée à une interface réseau, et au moins deux interfaces réseau étant distinctes. Le dispositif de téléchargement obtient (22, 26) au moins une information de répartition de requêtes de téléchargement des segments par interface réseau, et pour au moins un segment du contenu audiovisuel à télécharger, il sélectionne (23) une interface réseau parmi les interfaces réseau associées aux chemins de téléchargement comprises dans le fichier de description, en fonction de l'information de répartition de requêtes obtenue. Une requête de téléchargement du segment est ensuite envoyée (24) via l'interface réseau sélectionnée.
