The battery charging and swapping station comprises: a battery swapping platform (1) for parking a vehicle (5) waiting for a battery swap; a storage portion (2) comprising several battery storage units (21) which can form the storage portion (2) in at least one combination mode; and an automatic battery swapping robot (4) which can at least freely move between the battery changing platform (1) and the storage portion (2). The freely-moving automatic battery swapping robot can swap out a battery for the vehicle waiting for a battery swap without the use of a guide rail, thus improving the flexibility of movement of the battery swapping robot.
