A method for making a payment on the basis of a running mileage. The method comprises: recording the distance travelled by the running belt when a treadmill bears a weight above a certain threshold value, the mileage lower limit of each distance travelled by the running belt, a bank payment account and a payment amount receiving account; detecting the current weight borne by the treadmill; calculating, when the current weight borne by the treadmill is greater than the threshold weight, the accumulated distance travelled by the running belt; paying, when the calculated distance travelled by the running belt reaches the mileage lower limit of each distance travelled by the running belt, a preset amount of money to a payment receiving account from the bank payment account.
