VEHICULAR PERIPHERY MONITORING DEVICE

This vehicular periphery monitoring device, which is mounted to a vehicle, is provided with: a first imaging unit for capturing images of the rear and side-rear areas of the vehicle; a distance detecting unit for detecting, on the basis of the captured images captured by the first imaging unit, the distance from the vehicle to an object which is present to the rear or side-rear of the vehicle; a path predicting unit for predicting the path of the object on the basis of changes in the distance to the object detected by the distance detecting unit; and an entry predicting unit for predicting, on the basis of the path of the object predicted by the path predicting unit and door opening/closing regions which are set to the sides of the vehicle and prescribe the movable range in which each door of the vehicle opens and closes, whether or not the object has entered a door opening/closing region.
