The image display device comprises: a virtual space configuration part for placing a user interface image, which includes multiple selectable objects and a manipulation object, in a specific plane within a virtual space; an external information acquisition unit for acquiring information about real space; an object recognition part for recognizing, on the basis of the information, a specific object which is present in the real space; a pseudo-three-dimensional processing part for placing an image of the specific object in the plane within the virtual space; a contact determination part for determining whether or not the image of the specific object is in contact with the manipulation object in the plane; an interaction calculation part for calculating, when a contact therebetween is determined, an action exerted by a movement of the image of the specific object on the manipulation object; and a selection determination part for determining which one of the multiple selectable objects has been selected on the basis of the manipulation object on which the action has been exerted.
