| Zusammenfassung: | Provided are a method and apparatus for detecting an obstacle on a road, which relate to the field of communications technologies and resolve a potential risk when a pedestrian uses a mobile terminal while walking. The method comprises: collecting a road image through a camera (101); performing a recognition process on the collected road image to determine obstacles (102); determining a distance between a mobile terminal holder and an obstacle, and determining, according to the distance and a moving speed of the mobile terminal holder, a first time required by the mobile terminal holder to contact the obstacle (103); and if the first time is less than a safety time, generating, by the mobile terminal, a danger warning.
