Methods for the manufacture of a polycarbonate, including manufacturing the 2-aryl-3,3- bis(hydroxyaryl)phthalimidine, and polymerizing the 2-aryl-3,3- bis(hydroxyaryl)phthalimidine in the presence of a carbonate source are provided.
L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'une 2-aryl-3,3-bis(hydroxyaryl)phtalimidine consistant à chauffer un mélange réactionnel comprenant un composé de phénolphtaléine et une arylamine primaire en présence d'un catalyseur acide et un cocatalyseur de type amine aromatique hétérocyclique, pour former le composé 2-aryl-3,3-bis(hydroxyaryl)phtalimidine. L'invention concerne également des polymères comprenant des motifs structuraux dérivés de la 2-aryl-3,3-bis(hydroxyaryl)phtalimidine.
