The invention relates to a precision positioning device (1) extending along an axis and intended to be maintained in a first opening (41) in a mechanical part (4), said device comprising an axial element (10) including a passage (107), a nut (12), a support (11) and a movable element (15), in particular a tip or a slide, said axial element (10) being solidly connected to the support (11), and comprising a first screw thread (104) for mounting the nut (12) thereon, said nut (12) providing an axial stop that blocks the axial movement of the axial element (10) relative to the nut (12), said axial element (10) also including an end portion (101) comprising a deformable cylindrical male profile adapted to engage with the inner circumference of the first opening (41), and the end (101) of the axial element (10) deforming or expanding radially following the insertion of the movable element (15) as it moves in the passage (107) of the axial element (10) towards the end (101) thereof.
