The method can comprise: determining whether a message to be displayed meets a preset display rule; when the message to be displayed meets the preset display rule, arranging a message session window to which the message to be displayed corresponds in a first display region of a message list page; and when the message to be displayed does not meet the preset display rule, arranging the message session window to which the message to be displayed corresponds in a second display region of the message list page.
