A method for operating an electronic device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes receiving data for distance measurement between devices, wherein the electronic device is a first device among the devices, and determining positions of the devices using distances between the devices determined based on the data. L'invention concerne une technique applicable à un réseau de capteurs, une communication machine-machine (M2M), une communication de type machine (MTC), et l'Internet des objets (IoT). Un procédé de fonctionnement d'un dispositif électronique selon un mode de réalisation de la présente invention consiste à recevoir des données de mesure de distance entre des dispositifs, le dispositif électronique étant un premier dispositif parmi les dispositifs, et déterminer des positions des dispositifs à l'aide de distances entre les dispositifs déterminées sur la base des données.
