A filter rod maker comprises a garniture for receiving filter plug material and wrapping web material having first and second longitudinal edges, and to wrap the wrapping web material around the filter plug material such that said longitudinal edges overlap; a feeding device for supplying the wrapping web material along a web path to the garniture; an applicator for supplying an adhesive for sealing the overlapping longitudinal edges of the wrapping web material; and a web cleaning device arranged upstream from the adhesive applicator. The web cleaning device comprises a chamber with a web inlet and a web outlet and such that the wrapping web material is received into the chamber through the web inlet and leaves the chamber through the web outlet while advancing along a partially enclosed portion of the web path along a first direction (D); and a vacuum source in fluid connection with the chamber. La présente invention concerne un dispositif de fabrication de bâtonnet-filtre, le dispositif comprenant un canal de formation servant à recevoir pour un matériau de bout-filtre et un matériau de bande de capage présentant des premier et second bords longitudinaux, et à enrouler le matériau de bande de capage autour du matériau de bout-filtre de telle manière que lesdits bords longitudinaux se chevauchent ; un dispositif d'alimentation servant à acheminer le matériau de bande de capage le long d'un trajet de bande vers le canal de formation ; un applicateur servant à fournir un adhésif pour sceller les bords longitudinaux se chevauchant du matériau de bande de capage; et un dispositif de nettoyage de bande situé en amont de l'applicateur d'adhésif. Le dispositif de nettoyage de bande comprend une chambre doté d'un orifice d'entrée de bande et d'un orifice de sortie de bande, la chambre recevant le matériau de bande de capage par l'orifice d'entrée de bande et le matériau de bande de capage quittant la chambre par l'orifice de sortie de bande tout en avançant le long d'une partie partiellement fermée du trajet de la bande le long d'une première direction (D) ; et une source de vide en communication fluidique avec la chambre.
