The present invention also provides novel intermediate compound of formula VI and process for the preparation of intermediate compound of formula VI. The present invention also provides purification of perampanel. La présente invention concerne un nouveau procédé de préparation de 3-(2-cyanopshényl)-5-(2-pyridyl)-1-phényl -1,2-dihydropyridin-2-one, communément appelé perampanel ayant la formule I. La présente invention concerne également de nouveaux composés intermédiaires de la formule VI et un procédé de préparation de composés intermédiaires de la formule VI. La présente invention concerne également la purification de perampanel.
