SUPPORTING INTERNET PROTOCOL (IP) CLIENTS IN AN INFORMATION CENTRIC NETWORK (ICN)

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for providing Information Centric Networking (ICN) within a network, comprising detecting a request for content from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) that is in the network, selecting a network element for the WTRU to attach to, wherein the network element is selected without regard to properties of the content requested, and providing the content to the WTRU. A request to publish content from a WTRU in the network may include determining, based on content name, whether to publish the content in the network or outside the network, and if the content is to be published in the network, selecting a network element for the WTRU to attach to, wherein the network element is selected without regard to properties of the content requested, and causing the network element to accept the content from the WTRU. La présente invention concerne des systèmes, des procédés et des instruments conçus pour établir un réseau centré sur les informations (ICN) dans un réseau. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à : détecter une demande d'un contenu provenant d'une unité d'émission/réception sans fil (WTRU) qui se situe dans le réseau; sélectionner un élément de réseau auquel rattacher la WTRU, l'élément de réseau étant sélectionné indépendamment des propriétés du contenu demandé; et communiquer le contenu à la WTRU. Une demande de publication d'un contenu provenant d'une WTRU dans le réseau peut comprendre les étapes consistant à : déterminer sur la base du nom du contenu s'il convient de publier le contenu dans le réseau ou hors du réseau; si le contenu doit être publié dans le réseau, sélectionner un élément de réseau auquel rattacher la WTRU, l'élément de réseau étant sélectionné indépendamment des propriétés du contenu demandé; et amener l'élément de réseau à accepter le contenu provenant de la WTRU.
