WEAR-RESISTANT SILICON CARBIDE FOOTWEAR CLEAT AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR

A wear-resistant silicon carbide footwear cleat comprises a main cleat body and a nickel-plating layer adhering to the surface thereof; said surface is also provided with a silicon carbide layer, the nickel-plating layer being disposed between said silicon carbide layer and the main cleat body. The provision of a silicon carbide layer on the external surface of the nickel-plating layer provides the cleat, relative to the prior art and in light of the toughness, high hardness and wear-resistance of silicon carbide, with significantly enhanced wear-resistance and grants a longer product life to sports shoes equipped with such cleats. When in contact with the ground, the silicon carbide layer increases the friction coefficient and provides the cleat with slip-resistance that prevents user falls and enhances the safety of use of sports shoes equipped with the present cleats.
