Zusammenfassung:	The present invention demonstrates that the administration of an immunomodulatory glycan or a glycoconjugate thereof, including, but not limited to, a glycoconjugate of lacto-N-fucopentaose III (LNFPIII), during pregnancy and/or lactation is therapeutic and/or prophylactic to restore or normalize the physiologic, neurologic, metabolic, and immune functions adversely influenced in neonates and children born of obese, overweight mothers. La présente invention démontre que l'administration d'un glycane immunomodulateur ou d'un glycoconjugué de celui-ci, y compris, mais la liste n'est pas limitative, un glycoconjugué de lacto-N-fucopentose III (LNFPIII), au cours de la grossesse et/ou de la lactation a un effet thérapeutique et/ou prophylactique en restaurant ou en normalisant les fonctions physiologiques, neurologiques, métaboliques et immunitaires affectées chez les nouveau-nés et les enfants nés de mères obèses ou en surcharge pondérale.
