CATEGORIZATION OF VERTICAL EDGES CORRESPONDING TO A HALFTONE IMAGE

A method of printing includes identifying vertical edges in a halftone image. The method also includes determining whether a lightness of color of a first predetermined area to a left side of a respective vertical edge is substantially equal to, less than, or greater than the lightness of color of a second predetermined area to a right side of the respective vertical edge. The method also includes categorizing respective vertical edges left vertical edges, right vertical edges, and neutral vertical edges to prioritize a print direction thereof. La présente invention concerne un procédé d'impression qui consiste à identifier les bords verticaux dans une image en demi-teinte. Le procédé consiste également à déterminer si une clarté de couleur d'une première zone prédéfinie vers un côté gauche d'un bord vertical respectif est sensiblement égale à, inférieure à, ou supérieure à la clarté de couleur d'une seconde zone prédéfinie vers un côté droit du bord vertical respectif. Le procédé consiste également à catégoriser les bords verticaux respectifs, bords verticaux gauches, bords verticaux droits et bords verticaux neutres pour hierarchiser une direction d'impression de ceux-ci.
