Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to the use of an alcohol consisting of a linear or branched hydrocarbon-based chain having 7 to 9 carbon atoms, substituted with a single hydroxyl group, as a fungicide and/or algicide. It is more particularly directed towards combating the organisms of the family Pythiaceae. It is also directed towards compositions and preparations comprising these novel fungicides and/or algicides, and also the processes for obtaining same and the uses thereof. La présente invention est relative à l'utilisation d'un alcool constitué d'une chaîne hydrocarbonée, linéaire ou ramifiée, ayant 7 à 9 atomes de carbone, substituée par un unique groupement hydroxyle, en tant que fongicide et/ou algicide. Elle vise plus particulièrement une lutte contre les organismes de la famille des Pythiaceae. Elle vise également des compositions et préparations comportant ces nouveaux fongicides et/ou algicides, ainsi que leurs procédés d'obtention et leurs utilisations.
