The device is arranged to perform an object classification of a first signal from the pre-crash sensor system and to determine a threshold (T1, T2) for the in-crash sensor system as a function of the object classification. L'invention concerne un système de sécurité de véhicule comprenant un système de sécurité extérieur pour protéger un piéton, et un dispositif pour activer le système de sécurité extérieur, le dispositif étant connecté à un système de capteur pré-collision (10, 11) et un système de capteur de collision (16). Le dispositif selon l'invention est destiné à effectuer une classification d'objet d'un premier signal à partir du système de capteur pré-collision et à déterminer un seuil (T1, T2) pour le système de capteur de collision en fonction de la classification d'objet.
