LOW FRICTION BUCKLE TIGHTENING SYSTEM AND METHODS

A tensioning device comprises an elongate member, preferably a band, and a frame having first and second sides. The band has a first end that is attachable to the first side of the frame and a second end that is releasably securable to the second side of the frame. A movable clamping member on the frame secures the second end of the band to the second side of the frame by cinching the second end of the band between an engagement surface on the band and a mating engagement surface on the second side of the frame. A restraining member is provided for restraining the clamping member to a first position spaced from the mating locking surface on the second side of the frame, when the restraining member is in a restraining orientation. The restraining member is movable out of the restraining orientation after the band is tensioned to a predetermined level using the second end. The band is tensioned to the aforementioned predetermined level and is secured to the second side of the frame, so that the band establishes a path of tension along its length that extends linearly between the two ends of the band. La présente invention concerne un dispositif de tension comprenant un élément allongé, de préférence une bande, et un cadre possédant un premier et un second côté. Ladite bande comporte une première extrémité qui peut être fixée au premier côté du cadre et une seconde extrémité qui peut être fixée amovible au second côté du cadre. Un élément de serrage amovible sur le cadre fixe la seconde extrémité de la bande au second côté du cadre, en serrant la seconde extrémité de la bande entre une surface de contact sur la bande et une surface de contact appariée sur le second côté du cadre. Un élément de retenue est prévu pour retenir l'élément de serrage dans une première position espacée de la surface de blocage appariée sur le second côté du cadre, lorsque l'élément de retenue se trouve dans une orientation de retenue. Ledit élément de retenue peut quitter l'orientation de retenue lorsque la bande est tendue selon un degré prédéfinie au moyen de la seconde extrémité. La bande est tendue selon le degré prédéfini susmentionné et fixée au second côté du cadre, de manière à former un chemin de tension sur sa longueur, qui s'étend de manière linéaire entre les deux extrémités de la bande.
