La présente invention concerne des composés ayant la structure de la formule (I), et des sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables desdits composés, X désignant -C(=O) ou -S(O)2-, qui sont des inhibiteurs de CETP et sont utiles pour augmenter le taux de cholestérol HDL, pour réduire le taux de cholestérol LDL, et pour traiter ou prévenir l'athérosclérose.
